Maquoketa murderer now eligible for parole

A MAQUOKETA MAN WHO KILLED HIS STEPMOTHER 26 YEARS AGO IS NOW ELLIGIBLE FOR PAROLE.

JUDGE THOMAS REIDEL CALLED THE MURDER HORRENDOUS AND UNPROVOKED...BUT RULED THAT JAMES CORDER IS ELLIGIBLE FOR PAROLE.

CORDER WAS 16 WHEN HE STABBED MARSHA CORDER 37 TIMES AND SET THE FAMILY HOME ON FIRE.

THE HEARING CAME AFTER FEDERAL RULINGS THAT SAID JUVENILES CONVICTED OF CRIMES REQUIRING A MANDATORY LIFE SENTENCE MUST BE RESENTENCED.
